Howard A. Mosby was first elected in 2002 and is currently in his seventh 2-year term as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives. Representative Mosby represents House District 83, which includes Gresham Park, East Lake, the City of Decatur, and Druid Hills. He has been a strong advocate against Greenhaven in it’s present and past forms and has given his support to Neighbors Against Greenhaven and Concerned Citizens Against Cityhood in DeKalb.

Representative Mosby’s legislative initiatives include legislation to increase access to healthcare by the under-served and uninsured populations of Georgia, child endangerment legislation, property tax reductions, predatory lending legislation, and strengthening code enforcement laws.

Howard A. Mosby was first elected in 2002 and is currently in his seventh 2-year term as a member of the
Georgia House of Representatives. Representative Mosby represents House District 83, which includes Gresham Park, East Lake, the City of Decatur, and Druid Hills.

Representative Mosby currently serves on the:

  • House Ways and Means Committee,

  • the House Health and Human Services Committee, and

  • the House Governmental Affairs Committee.

Representative Mosby is currently serving as the Chairman of the DeKalb House Delegation to the Georgia General Assembly.

Representative Mosby’s legislative initiatives include legislation to increase access to healthcare by the under-served and uninsured populations of Georgia, child endangerment legislation, property tax reductions, predatory lending legislation, and strengthening code enforcement laws.

Representative Mosby is a twenty-two year employee of the Grady Health System (“Grady”), which is the largest public health system in the state of Georgia.  Grady serves as a major teaching institution for the Emory University School of Medicine and the Morehouse School of Medicine. As assistant vice president of Grady, Representative Mosby is responsible for managing a budget in excess of $150 million.

Representative Mosby also serves on the Emory University School of Medicine and the Morehouse School of Medicine’s Graduate Medical Education Advisory Committees. He is also a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and a member of the Georgia Association of Medical Staff Services, as well as the National Association of Medical Staff Services.

Representative Mosby is a Georgia licensed Certified Public Accountant, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Representative Mosby is an active member of the Georgia Society of CPA’s (GSCPA) and serves on the Leadership Council of the GSCPA.  Representative Mosby is an alumnus of the 2008 Class of Society’s Leadership Academy. Representative Mosby is an active member in the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA). 

 

Representative Mosby was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended East Atlanta High School where he was active in the student government and was selected as a STAR Student. 

 

Representative Mosby received his Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Finance from Georgia State University. Representative Mosby has also completed the University of North Carolina’s School of Public Health
Management Academy.
