City of Decatur paid $10,000 for a lobbyist to lobby the governor to veto a bill that would prevent annexation of small areas and few students but have large tax dollars. E.g. when Atlanta annexed Emory there was an area separate from Emory that had 7 students but generated $20 million dollars that was taken from DeKalb County Schools.

Neighbors Against Greenhaven feel this is unfair and similar to the tactics used by Greenhaven Ga paying for lobbyist to push their agenda. City of Decatur is a very affluent city with an increasing tax base. This will unfairly harm DeKalb County schools which rely on those funds.
