State of Georgia Police had to remove Greenhaven, Ga founder, Kathryn Rice, due to her disrupting a meeting today at the State Capitol. The DeKalb delegation was having their weekly meeting today. Ms. Rice is well informed that the the rules do not include speaking at the meeting. This was a stunt and pre-planned by her Lobbyist to draw attention and attempt to change the narrative that they are being persecuted. Please don’t fall for these theatrics. Ms. Rice is at the Capitol everyday soliciting lawmakers to sponsor her bill and attends these meetings regularly. Below is a picture from the weekly meeting 2 weeks ago.

This meeting would be the last meeting before March 7, which is Crossover Day.  AJC.com reported today that time is running out for Greenhaven and Vista Grove to get a sponsor. If they do not have a sponsor by Midnight, March 7, the bill will have to come back like the zombie that is next year. Kathryn Rice and Greenhaven are using this opportunity to get media awareness.

AJC report J.D. Capelouto reported in today’s AJC that “For an area to become a city, the state Legislature has to pass a bill allowing for a ballot referendum; any legislator in the state can sponsor the bill. For the past five years, Greenhaven has failed to get a bill passed. Last year was Vista Grove’s first attempt at legislation, which did not pass.

Greenhaven has changed its’ name, but not it’s tactics. Kathryn Rice announced Greenhaven is now going by the name of City of DeKalb. Same script, same cast, just a new name, a larger footprint and promoting it as DeKalb Cityhood Movement. The irony of this is that their lobbyist, Brad Carver, of Hall Smith Booth is a Republican supporter of Trump tactics! Brad Carver is on record of saying the election of President Biden, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossof, all of whom won the vote in Georgia in 2020, was election fraud. We know it’s not true, but what does that say about Kathryn Rice and they City of DeKalb crew? The ends do not justify the means. City of DeKalb proponents and Kathryn Rice are saying it’s voter suppression, when they are actually using Brad Carver, is one of the members supporting Georgia’s legislation and installing tactics that would actually suppress the votes of not only minorities, but independent voters. DeKalb Cityhood are messaging that they want an all black city, but are using politicians that are actively suppressing votes and gerrymandering districts to suppress the voters of metro Atlanta.

“The midway point in the legislative session when a bill generally must pass at least one chamber in the General Assembly in order to have a chance at becoming law this year. Advocates for Greenhaven, Ga and Vista Grove are set to hold an event at the Capitol next week to raise awareness and put the pressure on lawmakers before they have to wait another year for cityhood legislation.”

Is this who we want to lead South DeKalb. Do we want a person like Kathryn Rice who doesn’t have the temperament to follow the rules in, of all places, the State Capitol. How would she act as the Mayor of Greenhaven.
